EXTERIOR Painting

Exterior Preperation:

POWER WASHING:     Remove dirt, mildew, loose paint, chalk deposits, etc.  Sometimess we hand wash.  A clean surface is a crucial exterior painting preperation step.

SCRAPING and SANDING:  Scraping and sanding are combined.  Each method can find loose paint the other technique missed.  This forms the foundation for the entire project.

CAULKING:     Doors, casings, eaves, soffits, fascia, dormers, windows, chimney, joints, and all gaps.  Caulk makes your home more energy efficient  and prevents water intrusion.

ROTTED OR DAMAGED WOOD:   If salvagable, rot preventitive is added to wood followed by bondo.  Rotted wood is removed, matched, installed, primed, and painted two coats.

PRIMER:     Creates a good base for the top coat to adhere to.  Primer also seals any bare wood.   Primer locks down paint edges and re-establishes a good foundation for the top coat.

PAINT:     We prefer to use premium low VOC paints, they are the most durable and give you a safe, beautiful finish.  We also reccomend using 100% acrylic latex green paint and apply two coats over the primer coat.  We apply our paint with brush, roller, and airless sprayer.

FINAL INSPECTION:     After our own inspection, we walk through the project with you to be sure you are 100% satisfied.
